The guided corrections system has to be really sure that two tracks should be joined together. So, if you stop part way through guided corrections, then there is a chance the system was not sure enough to make some connections -> thus overlapping tracks.
Therefore, before starting manual corrections, please finish all of the guided corrections.
If you force close ABC Tracker and restart it, you will see the following error:

If you are stuck and have questions during the process, there are in program tutorials available along every step of the way located near the top left of screen. The “Instructions” button will help give information for the step that you are on.
The initial screen may be a bit small when you are marking or correcting many different objects. By clicking the side bar, top bar, and plus sign in the top right corner, you can expand or decrease the size of the window.
